At 4.00 am ET Tuesday, Germany's Ifo business confidence survey results are due. Economists forecast the sentiment index to rise slightly to 94.5 in September from 94.3 in August.
Ahead of the data, the euro held steady against its major counterparts.
The euro was worth 118.19 against the yen, 1.0986 against the greenback, 0.8843 against the pound and 1.0884 against the franc at 3:55 am ET.
