At 4.30 am ET Friday, the Bank of England is scheduled to issue mortgage approvals for October. Economists forecast mortgage approvals to fall to 65,400 from 65,900 in the previous month.
Ahead of the data, the pound held steady against its major counterparts.
The pound was worth 141.36 against the yen, 0.8531 against the euro, 1.2895 against the franc and 1.2905 against the greenback at 4:25 am ET.
