At 5.00 am ET Friday, Eurostat publishes euro area final consumer prices for January.
Ahead of the data, the euro traded mixed against its major counterparts. While the euro rose against the greenback and the yen, it fell against the pound. Against the franc, it held steady.
The euro was worth 120.80 against the yen, 1.0612 against the franc, 1.0814 against the greenback and 0.8370 against the pound at 4:55 am ET.
