As expected, the European Central Bank kept the main refi rate at a record low of zero percent and the deposit rate at -0.50 percent. The euro rose against its major counterparts after the decision.
The euro was trading at 117.08 against the yen, 1.1260 against the greenback, 0.8877 against the pound and 1.0565 against the franc around 8:49 am ET.
