At 3.00 am ET Thursday, the Office for National Statistics releases UK retail sales data for February. Economists forecast sales to grow 0.2 percent on month, following a 0.9 percent increase in January.
Ahead of the data, the pound held steady against its major counterparts.
The pound was worth 1.1825 against the greenback, 0.9219 against the euro, 1.1522 against the franc and 130.81 against the yen as of 2:55 am ET.
