At 4.30 am ET Thursday, UK Markit/CIPS PMI survey data is due. Economists forecast the flash composite PMI to fall to 31 in April from 36 in March.
Ahead of the data, the pound traded mixed against its major rivals. While it fell against the greenback and the yen, it rose against the euro and the franc.
The pound was worth 1.2342 against the greenback, 132.83 against the yen, 1.2015 against the franc and 0.8750 against the euro as of 4:25 am ET.
