Japan's all industry activity declined for the second straight month in March, figures from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry showed on Tuesday.

The all industry activity index fell 3.8 percent month-on-month in March, following a 0.7 percent decline in February.

Among components, industrial production fell 3.7 percent monthly in March, following a 0.3 percent decrease in February. The tertiary industry activity declined 4.2 percent in March, following a 0.8 percent fall. Meanwhile, the construction activity increased 1.4 percent month-on-month, after a 1.8 percent fall in the previous month.

On a yearly basis, the all industry activity index fell 5.4 percent in March, following a 2.3 percent decline in the prior month.
