Germany’s retail sales fell 1.1% month-on-month in June 2026, reversing a marginally revised 1.2% increase in May and coming in weaker than market expectations for a 0.5% decline. This was the steepest monthly drop since May 2025, underscoring softer consumer spending amid ongoing economic uncertainty. Food sales decreased by 1.4%, while non-food sales were down 1.0%.
