Slovenia's industrial turnover and new orders increased in May from the previous month.
Industrial turnover grew 10.6% on an annual basis in May, faster than a 10.4% growth in the previous month, the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia said on Tuesday. Domestic turnover slipped 0.8% and non-domestic turnover climbed 16.2%. At the same time, turnover in manufacturing industry increased 10.5%, while mining and quarrying turnover grew 16.7%.
Turnover in intermediate goods industry rose 14.2% annually in May, slower than a 21.8% growth in the previous month. Turnover in capital goods industry grew 8.4% and consumer goods industry increased 6%.
On a monthly basis, industrial turnover rose 3.1% in May, compared to a 3.7% fall in the previous month. Turnover in the domestic market fell 0.3% and in the non-domestic market grew 4%. For the first five months of the year, industrial turnover climbed 8.2% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Meanwhile, industrial new orders increased 18.7% on an annual basis in May, slower than a 26.1% growth in the previous month. At the same time, domestic new orders rose 7.2% and non-domestic new orders climbed 21.4%. Month-on-month, new orders dropped 2.9%, after rising 0.6% in April. In the January to May period, industrial new orders climbed 18.8% over a year ago.
