Extending its previous session's strong rally, the New Zealand dollar edged sharply higher versus its major opponents in early trading on Wednesday.

The NZ dollar climbed to a 13-day high of 1.7946 against the euro around 7:15 am ET and the next likely resistance level for the domestic unit is seen at 1.7860.

The euro-kiwi pair that finished yesterday's deals at 1.8107 is presently quoted at 1.7948.

Against the Australian dollar, the New Zealand currency rose to a 6-day high of 1.2569 around this time and this may be compared to yesterday's close of 1.2723.

On the upside, the NZ dollar may find target around the 1.2550 level. The aussie-kiwi pair is presently quoted at 1.2573.

The New Zealand currency advanced to a 5-day high of 0.7181 against the US dollar and 61.28 against the yen by 7:20 am ET, compared to yesterday's closing quotes of 0.7124 and 60.94, respectively.

If the NZ dollar strengthens further, likely resistance levels are seen at 0.7260 against the greenback and 61.80 versus the yen.
