Consumer confidence in Denmark deteriorated for the fourth consecutive month in October, data released by Statistics Denmark showed Thursday.

The consumer confidence index dropped to minus 6.6 in October from minus 3.6 in September, marking the fourth straight monthly decline. In August, the reading was minus 2.2.

Households views of their own current economic situation turned more pessimistic in October, with the relevant indicator falling to minus 4.1 from minus 2 in September. Similarly, the measure of consumers expectations for their finances in the next twelve months dropped to 7 from 8.4.

Consumers views of the country's economy remained unchanged in October, with the corresponding index holding steady at minus 17.9. Meanwhile, the indicator of their perception of Denmark's economy in the next 12-month period plunged to minus 5.6 in October from the previous month's reading of 7.2.
