Singapore's non-oil domestic exports grew at a slower-than-expected rate in July, due to the increase in both electronic and non-electronic exports, data from the International Enterprise Singapore showed Thursday.

NODX climbed 8.5 percent year-over-year in July, slower than the 9.1 percent gain economists had expected. This was followed by a 8.8 percent growth in June.

Exports of electronic products surged 16.3 percent annually in July, following a 5.4 percent rise in the prior month. It was forecast to increase by 15.0 percent.

The growth in electronic domestic exports was largely contributed by ICs, parts of PC's and disk media products.

Non-electronic NODX rose 5.2 percent yearly in July, but well below the 10.1 percent spike in the preceding month.

On a monthly basis, NODX decreased a seasonally adjusted 2.5 percent from June, when it fell by 2.2 percent.
