Following the release of the U.S. weekly jobless claims for the week ended September 9 and CPI data for August at 8:30 am ET Thursday, the greenback advanced against its major rivals.
The greenback was worth 110.96 against the yen, 0.9679 against the franc, 1.3325 against the pound and 1.1851 against the euro around 8:31 am ET.
