At 2:00 am ET Friday, Destatis is slated to issue Germany's producer prices for September. Economists forecast producer prices to climb 2.9 percent year-on-year, faster than the 2.6 percent increase in August.
Ahead of the data, the euro traded mixed against its major rivals. While the euro retreated against the pound, it held steady against the rest of major rivals.
The euro was worth 133.64 against the yen, 0.9005 against the pound, 1.1808 against the greenback and 1.1582 against the franc as of 1:55 am ET.
