At 4.00 am ET Wednesday, Germany's Ifo business confidence data is due. Economists forecast the business climate index to fall to 115 in October from 115.2 in September.
Ahead of the data, the euro traded mixed against its major rivals. While the euro bounced off against the yen and the franc, it held steady against the pound and the greenback.
The euro was worth 1.1762 against the greenback, 133.95 against the yen, 1.1658 against the franc and 0.8965 against the pound as of 3:55 am ET.
