At 4.30 am ET Wednesday, the Office for National Statistics has released UK consumer and factory gate prices for August. The pound firmed against its major counterparts following the data.
The pound was trading at 1.3201 against the greenback, 148.31 against the yen, 1.2730 against the franc and 0.8872 against the euro around 4:33 am ET.
