The Reserve Bank of Australia will wrap up its monetary policy meeting on Tuesday and then announce its decision on interest rates, highlighting a modest day for Asia-Pacific economic activity. The RBA is widely expected to keep its benchmark lending rate unchanged at 1.50 percent.

South Korea will release August numbers for industrial production and retail sales. In July, industrial production was up 0.5 percent on month and 1.2 percent on year, while retail sales added 0.5 percent on month and 6.0 percent on year.

Japan will provide September figures for monetary base; in August, the base was up 6.9 percent on year.

Thailand will release September numbers for consumer and producer prices. In August, consumer prices were up 0.26 percent on month and 1.6 percent on year, while core CPI added 0.01 percent on month and 0.7 percent on year. Producer prices eased 0.1 percent on month and added 1.8 percent on year.

Hong Kong will see August figures for retail sales; in July, sales were up 5.9 percent on year.

Finally, the markets in China remain closed all week for the National Day holiday and will re-open on October 8.
