Austria's consumer price inflation slowed in September, Statistics Austria reported Wednesday.
Inflation eased to 2 percent from 2.2 percent a month ago. The decline was largely driven by weaker price growth in furniture and heating oil. Month-on-month, consumer prices gained 0.8 percent. Clothing and footwear prices showed the biggest monthly increase of 21.7 percent.
EU harmonized inflation came in at 2.1 percent, down from 2.3 percent in the previous month. On a monthly basis, the harmonized index of consumer prices rose 1.2 percent.
