Retail sales in Australia were up a seasonally adjusted 0.2 percent on month in September, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said on Friday - coming in at A$26.892 billion.
That was shy of expectations for an increase of 0.3 percent, which would have been unchanged from the August reading.
For the third quarter of 2018, retail sales picked up 0.2 percent to A$80.010 billion. That also missed expectations for an increase of 0.4 percent and was down from 1.2 percent in the three months prior.
