The University of Michigan's consumer sentiment index for October is due at 10:00 am ET Friday. Ahead of the data, the greenback traded mixed against its major counterparts. While the greenback held steady against the euro and the pound, it rose against the yen. Against the franc, it retreated.
The greenback was worth 0.9975 against the franc, 108.47 against the yen, 1.1051 against the euro and 1.2677 against the pound at 9:55 am ET.
