At 5.00 am ET Wednesday, Eurostat is slated to issue euro area retail sales for September. Sales are forecast to remain flat after rising 0.3 percent in August.
Ahead of the data, the euro rose against its major rivals. The euro was worth 1.1089 against the greenback, 120.84 against the yen, 1.1011 against the franc and 0.8609 against the pound as of 4:55 am ET.
