The interest rate announcement and monetary policy report are due from the Bank of England on Thursday, headlining a busy day for the European economic news. The BoE is widely expected to hold its benchmark bank rate at 0.75 percent and the asset purchase plan at GBP 435 billion.

The announcement is due at 7.00 am ET. The bank will also publish its growth and inflation projections in the monetary policy report.

At 2.00 am ET, Germany's industrial production data is due. Output is forecast to drop 0.3 percent on month in September, following a 0.6 percent fall in August.

In the meantime, industrial output data is due from Norway.

At 3.00 am ET, the Czech Statistical Office publishes retail sales figures. Economists forecast sales to grow 7.1 percent on year in September, following a 1.4 percent rise in August.

At 4.00 am ET, Italy's Istat is set to issue retail sales for September. Retail sales are forecast to grow 0.3 percent on month, in contrast to a 0.6 percent fall in August.

At 5.00 am ET, Greece unemployment data is due for August.

At 8.00 am ET, the Czech National Bank is set to announce its monetary policy decision. The bank is expected to retain its key rate at 2.00 percent.
