In August 2025, Finnish consumer confidence dropped to -7.6, declining from -6.4 in July. This dip was largely due to persistently weak assessments of household finances, which saw a slight uptick to -0.2 from -1 in July. However, the outlook for Finland's broader economy continued to worsen, dropping to -17.1 from -12.7, indicating growing uncertainty. The period was also deemed unfavorable for purchasing durable goods, leading to low spending intentions at -14.6 compared to -10.6 previously. Concurrently, expectations regarding general unemployment remained pessimistic, with a slight decrease to -29.3 from -28.3, and the perceived risk of personal unemployment remained high at -13.3, slightly down from -12.8. On a more positive note, household views on their own financial situation showed some improvement, increasing slightly to 25.8 from 25.9, while inflation expectations dipped marginally to 4.8 from 4.9.
