Sweden experienced a reduction in its trade surplus in July 2025, recording SEK 4.5 billion, a decrease from SEK 6.8 billion in July of the previous year. Exports decreased by 2.0% year-over-year, amounting to SEK 153.8 billion. This decline was primarily driven by a 6.1% drop in exports to EU countries, whereas exports to non-EU countries saw a modest increase of 2.4%. Imports slightly decreased by 0.6%, totaling SEK 149.3 billion. Specifically, imports from non-EU countries decreased by 7.1%, while those from EU countries rose by 3.0%. Despite the monthly decline, the cumulative trade surplus for the first seven months of 2025 expanded to SEK 65.7 billion, compared to SEK 62.1 billion during the same period the previous year. On a seasonally adjusted basis, the trade surplus narrowed to SEK 6.7 billion in July, down from SEK 7.4 billion in the preceding month.
