The President responded to a federal police investigation into organized crime connections within the fuel retail industry, stock markets, and other sectors. Furthermore, President Lula addressed ongoing US-Brazil trade tensions, expressing no urgency for establishing reciprocal agreements and showing a preference for negotiation. In July, Brazil's gross public debt rose to 77.6% of GDP, up from June’s 76.6%. Meanwhile, the U.S. saw the PCE price index, a favored inflation measure by the Federal Reserve, align with expectations—evidencing a 0.2% month-over-month rise and a 2.6% year-over-year increase. This has led markets to now predict an 85% probability of a rate cut by the Federal Reserve in September, an increase from the previous month's 63%, as reported by CME's FedWatch tool. On the corporate spectrum, Petrobras saw a 0.2% increase, Vale rose 0.4%, Itaú Unibanco went up 0.3%, Bradesco gained 0.4%, and Ambev advanced by 0.8%.
