In July 2025, Indonesia experienced a 13.01% year-on-year increase in foreign tourist arrivals, totaling 1.48 million visitors. This marked a slowdown from the previous month's 18.2% growth. Key contributing markets included Malaysia (19.4%), Singapore (11.6%), China (14.6%), Japan (15.7%), South Korea (16.2%), India (1.0%), Australia (3.8%), and the UK (8.9%), while arrivals from the U.S. experienced a slight decline of 0.3%. From January to July, the cumulative number of arrivals rose by 10.0%, reaching 6.75 million. The Indonesian government aims to attract 14 to 16 million foreign visitors in 2025. This follows a strong recovery in tourism the previous year, with a 19.1% increase bringing total arrivals to 13.9 million—a figure surpassing the pandemic-era target range of 9.5 to 14.3 million. The growth momentum has been bolstered by enhanced aviation infrastructure and the creation of new tourist attractions.
