In the second quarter of 2025, the average monthly wages in the Czech Republic experienced a year-on-year growth of 5.3%, up from the 3.9% increase recorded in the previous quarter, and surpassing market forecasts which anticipated a 4.4% rise. This represents the sixth successive quarter of real wage growth, with the rate of increase being the most rapid since the second quarter of 2021. The average gross monthly nominal wage across the national economy reached CZK 49,402, reflecting a 7.8% year-on-year enhancement from 2024. Seasonally adjusted average wages also rose by 2.2% on a quarterly basis. The sectors witnessing the highest wage growth were professional, scientific and technical activities at 12.7%, and construction at 11%, whereas the mining and quarrying sector noted a rise of 4.8%, and other service activities saw a 5% increase.
