In August 2025, Armenia experienced a rise in its annual inflation rate, which climbed to 3.6% from 3.4% in July. This increase was primarily attributed to more substantial price hikes in food and non-alcoholic beverages, which grew by 4.9%, up from 4.7% the previous month. Additionally, there was a noticeable rebound in prices for clothing and footwear, which rose by 0.1%, reversing a 0.2% decline in July. Conversely, inflation eased in several sectors: housing utilities saw a reduction to 0.5% from 0.8%, alcoholic beverages and tobacco fell to 6.6% from 6.7%, healthcare costs decreased to 3.7% from 3.8%, and transport dropped to 6.0% from 7.2%. On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices in August recorded a modest increase of 0.2%, following a 0.8% decline the previous month.
