In July 2025, retail sales in Colombia surged by 17.9% compared to the same month the previous year. This marks an increase from the 10.1% rise recorded in June and surpasses market expectations of an 11.6% growth. This period marks the 14th consecutive month of retail sales expansion, with all 19 product categories showing positive performance. Notable gains were observed in sales of other motor vehicles and motorcycles, which soared by 68% compared to a 19.3% increase previously, household vehicles and motorcycles, up by 46.3% from 20.9%, and IT and telecom equipment for personal use, which climbed by 56% following a 57% increase. When excluding fuel, retail sales experienced a growth of 21.8% in real terms. Additionally, employment within the retail sector saw a 0.9% increase compared to July 2024.
