In August 2025, Argentina reported a trade surplus of USD 1.402 billion, a decrease from USD 1.875 billion observed in the same month of the previous year. This figure represents the highest monthly surplus recorded so far in 2025. Imports experienced a 32.4% year-on-year increase, reaching USD 6.463 billion. This surge was primarily fueled by significant upticks in consumer goods by 15.3%, passenger motor vehicles by 8.6%, and parts and accessories for capital goods rising by 19.7%, although other categories demonstrated varied trends. On the export side, there was a 16.4% increase, totaling USD 7.865 billion, with primary products climbing by 35.7% and agro-industrial manufactures by 18.1%. However, these gains were somewhat mitigated by a 7.0% decline in industrial manufactures. Cumulatively, for the year-to-date period ending in August 2025, the trade surplus was USD 5.071 billion, a significant drop from the USD 14.075 billion recorded during the same timeframe in 2024.
