In October 2025, Brazil's annual inflation rate decreased to 4.68% from 5.17% in September, falling short of market predictions of 4.75% and reaching its lowest level since January. The inflation rate slowed notably in several categories: food and beverages decreased to 5.5% from 6.61%, housing fell to 4.36% from 6.24%, household goods dropped to 0.43% from 1.21%, personal expenses declined to 6.83% from 7.10%, and communication rates lowered to 0.88% from 1.56%. Conversely, there was a rise in prices for clothing, which increased to 5.07% from 4.93%, transport, which went up to 3.69% from 3.18%, health and personal care, slightly increasing to 5.42% from 5.39%, and education, which edged up to 6.21% from 6.19%. The city of Goiania recorded the highest regional inflation at 6.41%. On a monthly scale, consumer prices inched up by 0.1%, a slowdown from the 0.48% rise seen in September.
