Consumer sentiment in the United States, as measured by the University of Michigan, has been adjusted downward to 52.9 for December 2025, compared to an earlier estimate of 53.3. In this revision, the index reflecting current conditions dropped from 50.7 to 50.4, and the expectations index decreased from 55 to 54.6. Conversely, inflation expectations for the coming year have been revised upwards to 4.2%, higher than both the initial and previous month's estimate of 4.1%. However, the five-year inflation outlook remains unchanged at 3.2%.
