Romania’s current account recorded a deficit of EUR 2,622 million in December 2025, narrowing from EUR 2,793 million in the same month a year earlier. This was the smallest monthly deficit since July, supported primarily by a stronger services surplus, which widened to EUR 883 million from EUR 754 million a year before. At the same time, the goods trade deficit decreased to EUR 2,705 million from EUR 3,328 million. Conversely, the primary income deficit increased to EUR 887 million from EUR 440 million, while the secondary income surplus shrank to EUR 87 million from EUR 221 million. Over the full year 2025, the current account deficit rose to EUR 30,127 million, compared with EUR 28,853 million in 2024.
