The annual inflation rate in Kyrgyzstan accelerated to 11% in March 2026, up from 9.7% in February, reaching its highest level since May 2023. Price pressures strengthened across a range of categories, including food and non-alcoholic beverages (10.9% vs. 8.8% in February), clothing and footwear (5.8% vs. 5.1%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (9.5% vs. 8.6%), household goods and appliances (7.8% vs. 7.3%), healthcare (11.7% vs. 11%), restaurants and hotels (21.2% vs. 15.9%), and recreation and culture (12.3% vs. 12.2%). In contrast, inflation eased in housing and utilities (13.1% vs. 14.1%) and transport (8.9% vs. 9.5%), while remaining unchanged in education (22.4%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 1.3% in March, up from 1.2% in the previous month, marking the highest monthly increase since October 2025.
