The Polish economy expanded by 3.4% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2026, down from a revised 4.1% in the previous quarter. This was the weakest growth rate since the second quarter of 2025, reflecting a gradual loss of momentum amid persistent inflationary pressures, elevated energy prices, and tighter fiscal conditions weighing on economic activity. On a seasonally adjusted quarterly basis, GDP growth slowed to 0.5% in Q1 2026 from a revised 1% in Q4 2025, marking the softest quarterly expansion since the third quarter of 2024.
