Manufacturing output in the Philippines jumped 14.7% year-on-year in April 2026, quickening from a revised 13.1% increase in March. The surge was driven primarily by a substantial rise in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products, which soared 60.8% compared with 4.6% in March and contributed 82.0% of the overall gain. Growth also picked up in the production of food products (9.7% vs 8.5%) and transport equipment (11.8% vs 9.6%). By contrast, output growth eased in computer, electronic and optical products (19.0% vs 23.9%) and in basic metals (29.1% vs 43.6%).
