Tourist arrivals in Slovenia increased by 10.1% year-on-year in May 2026, reaching 680.1 thousand—the highest level since September 2025—after a modest 0.2% rise in April. Foreign arrivals rose by 13.2% to 551.8 thousand, with most visitors coming from Germany (up 54.5%), the US (26.8%), the UK (32.9%), and Italy (15.5%), while arrivals from Austria edged down by 0.4%. In contrast, domestic tourist arrivals fell by 1.4% to 128.3 thousand. Overnight stays grew by 10.8% to 1.590 million, with the largest shares recorded in mountain resorts (up 26.0%), followed by seaside resorts (4.6%) and health resorts (2.6%). Over the first five months of 2026, total tourist arrivals rose by 6.3% year-on-year to 2.131 million.
