Anxiety over potential energy supply disruptions deepened after Iran declared the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, reigniting fears of renewed inflationary pressures and the prospect of interest rates staying elevated for longer. At the same time, the technology sector remained under pressure, and focus was beginning to shift toward the upcoming US earnings season.
