Hong Kong’s import sector strengthened in June 2026, with growth picking up on a month-over-month basis, according to the latest data updated on 27 July 2026.
Imports rose 45.4% in June compared with the previous month, up from a 42.0% month-over-month increase recorded in May 2026. The figures show that not only are imports continuing to expand, but the pace of growth has accelerated between May and June.
The data indicate sustained momentum in Hong Kong’s external trade flows, as each month’s reading reflects the change relative to the preceding month: May’s 42.0% increase was measured against April, while June’s stronger 45.4% gain is measured against May. This suggests a continued firming of import demand heading into the second half of 2026.
