The annual inflation rate in the Dominican Republic eased slightly to 5.47% in July 2026, down from 5.67% in June. The most pronounced price increases were seen in restaurants and hotels (8.15%), transport (7.95%), food and non-alcoholic beverages (6.75%), education (6.52%), and alcoholic beverages and tobacco (5.1%). By contrast, prices declined in clothing and footwear (-1.29%) and in communications (-1.4%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.19%, decelerating from a 0.51% increase in June. Cumulative inflation since the start of the year reached 2.21%, while core inflation registered 4.96% year-on-year.
