The British currency weakened further against its most major counterparts during New York afternoon trading on Tuesday. At 3:20 pm ET, the pound dropped to a new multi-year low of 128.87 versus the Japanese yen, compared to yesterday's close of 132.29. Currently, the pair is worth 129.28. The sterling also showed weakness against the US dollar and the Swiss franc and as of now trading near 8-day lows of 1.4499 and 1.6223, respectively.
