The final numbers of Germany's consumer price index for June are expected at 2:00 am ET. Ahead of the data, the euro showed mixed trend against its major opponents.
While the common currency edged slightly higher against the yen and the Swiss franc, it held steady versus the US dollar and declined against the pound.
At present, the euro is quoted at 0.8364 against the pound, 1.3346 against the franc, 112.47 against the yen and 1.2684 against the US dollar.
