• Egypt's annual FDI of $8bn is a 'safe bet' for 2010-11
• Inward investment lowered 16 pct to $6.8 bn in the previous fiscal year due to slowing inflows to the oil and gas sector

 Quote:

•  "I think the $8 billion in net FDI is a safe bet for the current fiscal year.If some activities in the infrastructure side would take place and be fulfilled, the FDI figure is going to be improving even further."  -Mahmoud Mohieldin said in Cairo.

Background:

• In May the FDI was seen at a total of $10 bn in the year to June 30, 2011.
