• Sterling fell around half a cent against the dollar to $1.5775 after the remarks; euro rose to around 85.45 pence from around 84.92 pence
• December gilt futures turned positive and jumped to trade 25 ticks up on the day at 124.37 after the speech, having stood 2 ticks down at 124.10 beforehand
• December Bund futures rose after the comments, although remained much off earlier session highs and were last up 7 ticks at 131.58
