Figures from Japan Chain Stores Association showed on Monday that supermarket sales in Japan continued to fall in June.
On a yearly basis, supermarket sales fell 1.2 percent in June. That was slower than the previous month's decline of 1.8 percent.
Retail sales fell an annual 1.4 percent before adjustment compared to May's 1.9 percent decline.
Supermarket decreased 4 percent on a monthly basis in June.
