Sweden's retail sales growth eased at a faster-than-expected pace in June, figures from Statistics Sweden showed Thursday.

Retail sales rose 3.2 percent year-over-year in June, slower than May's 6-month high of 5.0 percent gain. Economists had expected a 4.1 percent increase for the month.

Sales of durables grew 4.0 percent annually in June and those of consumables climbed by 2.2 percent.

On a monthly basis, retail sales fell a seasonally adjusted 0.6 percent in June, reversing a 2.0 percent spike in the previous month. Meanwhile, it was expected to rise by 0.1 percent.
