Malaysia's industrial production growth accelerated at a faster-than-expected pace in November, data from the Department of Statistics showed Wednesday.
Industrial production grew 6.2 percent year-over-year in November, well above the 4.2 percent climb in the previous month. Economists had expected a 5.5 percent gain for the month.
Manufacturing production advanced 6.5 percent annually in November and the mining sector output rose steadily by 4.7 percent. The electricity output also registered a growth of 9.7 percent.
In an another report, the statistical office revealed that the manufacturing sales value rose notably by 8.2 percent yearly in November from a year ago.
Total employees engaged in manufacturing sector increased 0.2 percent and salaries and wages went up by 6.1 percent.
