Australia will on Monday release Q4 figures for inventories and operating profits, highlighting a light day for Asia-Pacific economic activity.

Inventories are expected to have added 0.5 percent after rising 0.8 percent in Q3, while operating profits are tipped to jump 8.0 percent after adding 1.0 percent in the three months prior.

Hong Kong will provide January numbers for imports, exports and trade balance. In December, imports were worth 385.82 billion HKD and exports were at 340.34 HKD for a trade deficit of 45.48 billion HKD.

Finally, the markets in Taiwan are off on Monday and Tuesday for Peace Memorial Day; they will re-open on Wednesday.
