The National Association of Realtors' pending home sales for April will be published at 10:00 am ET Wednesday. The consensus is for increase of 0.5 percent, while it was down 0.8 percent in the prior month.
Ahead of the data, the greenback dropped against its major rivals.
The greenback was worth 1.1236 against the euro, 110.69 against the yen, 1.2875 against the pound and 0.9695 against the franc as of 9:55 am ET.
