Following the release of the Commerce Department's Retail Sales report for August at 8.30 am ET Friday, the greenback slipped against its major rivals. The greenback was trading at 111.00 against the yen, 0.9583 against the franc, 1.3598 against the pound and 1.1983 against the euro around 8:32 am ET.
